    Fishguard & Goodwick Town Council are delighted to announce this years winner of the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition. Well done to Scarlet Meaney from Ysgol Glannau Gwaun and congratulations to all the finalists. There were some wonderful entries and our judges had a tough time picking the winner. All the finalist’s entries are displayed in the Town Council Meeting Room window at the Town Hall and will be there until the New Year.

    Fishguard & Goodwick Town Council are saddened to announce the passing of Councillor Jordan Ryan, Town Councillor and County Councillor for Fishguard. Jordan was a Councillor for many years and served as Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick for two terms from 2018 to 2020. Jordan was an active and passionate Councillor and was committed to the people of our towns, being our longest serving Councillor at this time. He will be sadly missed by all at Fishguard & Goodwick Town Council, and our thoughts are with his mum Mandy and the rest of his family at this time.

    Pembrokeshire County Council is carrying out a consultation on the premiums that apply to second and long-term empty homes.

    The consultation seeks views on:

    • Council Tax premiums for second homes for 2026-27
    • Council Tax premiums for long-term empty homes 2026-27
    • How any funding raised from the premiums in 2026-27 should be spent
    • Whether Welsh Government should change the minimum number of days that a property must be let for in order to qualify for Non-Domestic Rate self-catering accommodation tax status
    • and whether the Council should use its discretion to exempt holiday lets that transfer from NDR to council tax from any premium

    The closing date for completed responses is Sunday, 31 August 2025.

  7. South West Wales Bus Network Consultation

    Transport for Wales has launched a consultation regarding the proposed local bus network for South West Wales:  https://haveyoursay.tfw.wales/bus-reform.  The deadline for responses is 23rd September 2025.

    A number of drop-in consultation events will be held across the region over the coming weeks (please see attached).  This is an opportunity to view the plans, meet the TfW team and ask any questions that you may have. 

    The following events are planned in Pembrokeshire:

    • Monday 21 July from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Haverhub, Haverfordwest.   
    • 28 August – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Phoenix Community Centre, Goodwick
    • 5 September – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Haverhub, Haverfordwest
    • 10 September – 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. De Valence, Tenby
    • Additional events in the Pembroke and Milford areas.  Details tbc.
